The Brothers

One of many sets of tribal deities known only by their importance to the early tribe of Umbras, The Brothers represent the intertwinement of fate and fortune—one carving his path, one following the path which comes, and both moving in the same direction. During the Raven Wars, the Brothers were a popular motif both as a symbol of Umbras’ dominion and of the fate of men which the to-be-Umbrians were making real. It declined in importance and was ultimately abandoned with the Raven-sign became a more distinguishable mark of Umbras and mankind’s dominion.

The Brothers are no longer revered as deities anywhere but in history books, and several scholars wonder if The Brothers were ever venerated at all, or simply esteemed as spiritual representations of the world-conquering tribe.
